Back in Europe he finds the Monarchs very unsettled with the war with France, trying to consolidate their victories in southern Italy, and organizing the marriage of their son Prince John of Asturias with Margaret of Austria. After a year and a half of wait, the Admiral began to reconfirm a raise in participation of the benefits that could be gained from the lands. He Recruited around 500 Spaniards including military and settlers, obtaining reduced sentences for the condemned that would rather go to the Indies. On May of 1498 he sails again with a small fleet of ships, three of which are sent to Hispaniola with provisions.
